Travelers Want To Take A Deeper Dive On Land And Sea
As luxury travel resumes, more partnerships are being formed to build two key pillars of the sustainable travel movement: supporting local communities and offering guests deeper dives into the wildlife and the ecosystems of far-flung locales. One African tour operator, for example, is enabling participants to go behind the scenes of regular safaris and learn from wildlife experts about gorilla conservation in Uganda. Consumers Vote Yes On Digital Health Passports
91% of consumers surveyed by Amadeus say they would be comfortable using a digital health passport going forward, because they believe it will help bring travel back safely. Travelers were also asked what solutions might reassure them when it comes to digital health data with 42% of respondents saying a travel application for the whole journey would improve the overall experience and 41% saying such an app would reduce travel stress. The Hotel Front Desk Of The Future
Currently in a beta phase, two New York City hotels are trying out automated kiosks at the front desk to replace human beings. Equipped with touch screens that can check in guests and spit out room keys, the giant vending machines are also “grab-and-go marketplaces” that can dispense everything from coffee to breakfast sandwiches and cereal. The Great American Road Trip Is Back — And Stronger Than Ever
Newly released data from location intelligence provider Arrivalist’s Daily Travel Index, which tracks American road trips, shows that for the first time since the pandemic, road trip vacations have surpassed 2019 levels. Road trips of 250 miles or more over Easter weekend in 2021 were a full 35% higher than long road trips during the same period of time in 2019. Read more in Skift here.
