Business Travel Will Not Rebound Quickly

Deloitte has warned business travel is set for a slow takeoff, based on the findings of its new report. Travel managers predict a slower recovery and have found only a third of companies expect to reach or surpass 50% of 2019 travel spend levels by the end of 2021. Just over half expect their companies to reach 2019 levels by the fourth quarter of 2022. And then add into that the fact that sustainability measures to reduce carbon emissions at major corporations mean that business travel is going to be scrutinized even further as it is an easy target to reduce carbon emissions company wide. The Price Of Hotel Sustainability

There's a big discussion going on regarding the price of hotel sustainability. First there is the "Willing To Stay" question — do guests want to stay in hotels with sustainable practices? And then you get the "Willing To Pay" question — are they willing to pay more to do so? Travelers Check Into Fitness Resorts To Drop Pandemic Pounds

According to a research letter published in JAMA Network Open, Americans gained more than half a pound every ten days of lockdown — probably due to the increased desire for baking, ordering in, and exercising less. That weight gain now translates to a commitment to lose it and that means big business for fitness and wellness resorts. Read more on CNN here.

Sure we've all done it in the past — when no one is in your row, you put up all the arms and lie across the row of seats to catch some zs. Well now Lufthansa is selling the privilege. Lufthansa's new Sleeper's Row product can be purchased at check-in or at the gate for a surcharge of between 159 and 229 euros ($189 to $272) per route. Definitely cheaper than Business Class!
