JC Communications Is Now Representing Backland, A Luxury Eco-Resort In Arizona
Property Will Redefine The Concept of "Glamping"

I wanted to take a moment of your time to introduce you to my newest client: Backland, a luxury eco-resort near the Grand Canyon in Arizona, which is redefining the concept of glamping and will open this summer. It will, without doubt, be the most luxurious option for Grand Canyon accommodations.
Here are just a few things to keep on your radar for upcoming stories:
- Backland is redefining the glamping industry by curating custom-designed, never-before-seen tents which truly bring comfort and reliability to this style of accommodation. If you have ever glamped or even camped, you know that it's not always the most comfortable situation dealing with tents flapping in the wind (quite noisy to sleep), climate control challenges, and the inability to actually see the beautiful scenery outside when the tent is zipped up at night. All of these negatives associated with glamping have now been addressed at Backland.
- The property is situated on 160 private acres near the Grand Canyon. It is surrounded by the largest Ponderosa pine forest in the world.
- The arrival of COVID prompted people to reaquaint themselves with the great outdoors, visiting national parks, staying in alternative accommodations versus traditional hotels, etc. Backland offers an amazing stay option for those who want to get outdoors in comfort and disconnect from the digital world.
- Resort amenities include a farm-to-table restaurant, spa treatments utilizing many herbs and botanicals found on the land, complimentary yoga, geocaching, and access to many other outdoor activities so you never need to leave the property.
- The location is amazing, providing easy access for daytrips to more than a dozen Arizona attractions including the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff, and more.
- Sustainability is at the core of Backland's mission, giving guests an immersive and transformative experience in nature while striving to significantly improve wildlife habitats and the ecology of the land. The property will use ecological toiletries and cleaning supplies, source a significant amount of food product locally, and engage in other activities to be sustainable including reducing water usage from dishwashing by serving all meals on high-quality compostable dishware and utensils.
In the coming weeks I will be pulling together some helpful one sheets and will share more detail on these story angles above.
In the meantime, if you have any pressing needs where Backland might fit into a story in progress — it will definitely be a great place for fall travel for those who are still exploring domestically or a seek alternative accommodation and experiences — please let me know.
We're also open to press stays for those on assignment upon opening.
Thanks for your time and let me know if I can be of assistance.
Best,
